This Friday, the Metalworkers Union of São Paulo is carrying out an act for democracy and the rights of the working class. The event, which takes place at the union’s headquarters, in the LIberdade neighborhood, expects the presence of the former Minister of Finance and pre-candidate for the State government, Fernando Haddad; of the former ministers of Planning and the Environment, Simone Tebet and Marina Silva, both considered to run for the Senate in São Paulo. Among the main agendas of the act is the end of the 6×1 scale, with a reduction in working hours, without a salary reduction.
This week, deputy José Rocha (União Brasil-BA) declared the installation of the special commission on the proposals to reduce working hours and end the 6×1 scale in the Chamber of Deputies. The committee will discuss the merits of the proposals and consider an opinion to be released by the rapporteur.
The president of the Union, Miguel Torres, who also presides over Força Sindical and the National Confederation of Metalworkers (CNTM), says that this year’s May Day will reinforce the agenda of the National Conference of the Working Class (Conclat) 2026 “in defense of jobs and rights, democracy and sovereignty and a dignified life for all”.
The Act also raises the flag against pejotization; against femicide; strengthening collective negotiations; right of negotiation for servers; regulation of work in applications; and mental health in the workplace.
The arrival of the former ministers is scheduled for 10:30 am.
