Graz – As in the previous year, SG NÖ Sokol/Post secured the title in the Austrian Volley League for women. The favored record champion won the fourth match away from home 3-1 (18,-22,19,17) in the new final against UVC Graz in front of more than 1,000 spectators on Friday and ended the series (best of five) early with 3-1 victories. At first the fourth set seemed clearly in the hands of the Graz women, but they missed a 14:8 lead and ultimately the final series.
