US forces have already rerouted 45 commercial ships in the Strait of Hormuz, US Central Command (CENTCOM) said on Friday, as Washington maintains a naval blockade against Iran.
“The US continues to patrol international waters and enforce the ongoing naval blockade against Iran. To date, 45 commercial ships have been directed to turn around or return to port to ensure compliance,” he wrote in a post on X.
Earlier, US Treasury Secretary Scott Bessent said the blockade on the important sea route will continue until pre-war “freedom of navigation” with Iran resumes.
