Trump’s tariffs could cost Germany billions – if they actually come

According to economists, the higher tariffs announced by US President Donald Trump on imports of vehicles from the EU could depress the already meager economic growth in Germany. “The effects would be substantial,” said the President of the Kiel Institute for the World Economy (IfW), Moritz Schularick, to the Reuters news agency on Saturday. Trump had previously announced that he would increase tariffs from 15 to 25 percent starting next week.
