Chega did not present the proposed constitutional review promised for April. However, the Government says it has other priorities and will only think about the matter from next year onwards.
The commitment was marked on the calendar by André Ventura, who in March said he would begin the constitutional review process in April.
The promise came almost a year after the legislative elections that confirmed a parliamentary majority on the right and opened the door for the first time to the approval of a Constitutional review without the PS, but so far no proposal has been entered into Parliament.
The information was provided by Jornal Público and confirmed by SIC.
Last review was in 2005
50 years ago, in April 1976, the country approved the first version of the Constitution, which has since had seven revisions. For André Ventura, there needs to be one more.
SIC asked Chega for clarification about the delay in delivering the project, but has so far received no response.
