A 49-year-old woman was arrested by the PSP for attempting to murder her partner in the context of domestic violence, and is suspected of having seriously injured him through stabbing, in Portalegre, a police source revealed this Sunday.
Contacted by the Lusa agency, source of explained that the woman is suspected of attempted murder, in the context of domestic violence, and will be present for the first judicial interrogation at the Portalegre Court, on Monday.
On Saturday, around 7:00 pm, the PSP Portalegre District Command received an alert for “a situation of aggression inside a residence, in the context of domestic violence”, in that city in Alentejo.
After arriving at the scene, the agents came across “a couple inside the house”, and “the victim, a 55-year-old man, had blood on his face and it was possible to observe that he had been stabbed in the head and in some parts of his body”.
“He was considered seriously injured and transported to Portalegre hospital, from which he was discharged overnight,” added the PSP source.
The police detained “the alleged aggressor, her 49-year-old companion”, having found and seized “the presumed murder weapon, a knife”.
“The discussion may have originated from futile reasons,” said the PSP source, adding that the case was handed over to the Évora Local Criminal Investigation Unit (ULIC) of the Judiciary Police (PJ), the police force responsible for the investigations.
