Gasoline prices affect Americans, but will fall after conflict, says Bessent

WASHINGTON, ⁠4 ⁠May (Reuters) – US Treasury Secretary Scott Bessent said on Monday that gasoline prices are hurting Americans but are expected to drop quickly when the conflict with Iran ends.

The US is opening the Strait of Hormuz and help is on the way, Bessent said in an interview with Fox News.
