The federal deputy (-PR) stated that the government cannot live with an “enemy at home” when commenting on the actions of the president of , (-AP).

In an interview with GloboNews, the PT member classified the overturning of the veto as shameful. “Those who voted to overturn the veto, and including President Davi, have the shame of that afternoon on their CV”, said the deputy.

Asked about the relationship with Alcolumbre and the strategy from now on, she declared that “President Davi was correct in most cases and the government was also correct with him in most cases in processing matters”.

“Now I think that if we are entering into an electoral game, the government has to demarcate its field”, he continued. “What we can’t do is go into an electoral dispute with the enemy at home, this can’t happen, and we’re fighting over a country project.”

Asked if she considers Alcolumbre an “enemy at home”, the deputy retreated and said that she does not see him that way, but again criticized his actions. According to her, if the behavior continues, the senator “will not be a friend, he will be on another platform”.

Gleisi also defended caution in political alliances. For her, agreements with center parties are necessary, but they should not include actors that could weaken the government.

“I think there needs to be an alliance, yes, but an alliance only with those who will be on the platform with the president”, he says.

The deputy also stated that there is a “historic responsibility” to prevent the return of the extreme right to power and once again criticized Jair Bolsonaro’s government, which she classified as a period of setbacks.

Regarding the possibility of one, he said he viewed the idea with sympathy, but stated that the decision was up to the president.
