Agreement in the EU on a weakened AI law

Representatives of the EU states and the European Parliament have agreed to weaken the law regulating artificial intelligence (AI). The provisional agreement reached early Thursday after nine hours of negotiations provides, among other things, for later implementation of key regulations. The clearer identification of AI content such as images or videos, for example using watermarks, is no longer mandatory from August 2nd, but only from December 2nd, 2026.
