Russia reports a record night full of drone attacks with hundreds of shootings over its own territory and occupied Crimea. According to the authorities, Moscow was protected by two missiles.
During the night of Thursday, Russian air defense intercepted and shot down 347 Ukrainian drones over 20 Russian regions, as well as over Crimea and the Caspian, Black and Azov seas. This was stated by the Russian Ministry of Defense in a statement, reports TASR with reference to the AFP and RIA Novosti agencies.

The drones were shot down between 9:00 p.m. Wednesday and 7:00 a.m. Moscow time on Thursday (7:00 p.m. – 5:00 a.m. CET).
Attacks on Moscow
The mayor of Moscow, Sergei Sobyanin, announced on his channel on the Maks platform that an attack by two drones heading towards the Russian capital was repelled at night. “Rescue forces are working at the crash site,” Sobianin wrote. He did not provide further details.
On the instructions of President Vladimir Putin, the Russian Ministry of Defense announced a unilateral ceasefire on May 8 and 9, which coincides with the date of the 81st anniversary of the end of World War II (Victory Day). Ukraine also declared a unilateral ceasefire effective from Wednesday midnight. Nevertheless, the fighting continues on the front lines.
