Klagenfurt – The 50th Days of German-Language Literature opened in Klagenfurt on Wednesday evening with an innovation. For the first time, the ceremony, which took place on the day before the 100th birthday of the poet Ingeborg Bachmann (1926-1973), was broadcast live by 3sat – which is why the event had to be streamlined. The reading order was drawn the day before. The opening speech, the Klagenfurt speech on literature, also had to be presented in a short version.
