Janaína Paschoal asks Ciro to step away from the PP – 05/07/2026 – Panel

Councilor for São Paulo, Janaína Paschoal defends that (PI) leave the presidency of the party after having turned. To take her place, Janaína suggests that the senator (MS) take office immediately.

“The Senator [Ciro] should step aside from the national presidency, I think that an exempt person like Senator Tereza Cristina could take over. She is already in the National Executive as one of the vice-presidents”, stated the councilor, one of the few members of the PP who came out in defense of Ciro’s removal.

Tereza herself was cautious when commenting on the situation involving Ciro. “Everything needs to be investigated. We also have to give the right to full defense and not judge before knowing the result of the investigations”, stated the senator.

Until early Thursday evening, Janaína was still demanding a note with the PP’s position in São Paulo, but was unsuccessful.
