“I think the matter is coming to an end,” Putin said of the four-year-old conflict.
The Financial Times had already reported on Thursday that the leaders of Unity European Union were preparing for possible negotiations with Russia.
Asked whether he would be willing to get personally involved in these negotiations with the Europeans, Vladimir Putin revealed that Gerard Schröder, German chancellor between 1998 and 2005, would be your preferred interlocutor.
The Kremlin had said, last week, that it would be possible European governments to take the first step towards a possible peace agreement.
