Flávio Bolsonaro on Moraes: Democracy is shaken – 05/09/2026 – Politics

The senator (-RJ) criticized the decision of the minister, of the (Supreme Federal Court), approved by the National Congress.

He stated that he considered it strange that the minister had made the decision on a law that, according to the senator, was written and authorized by the magistrate. The law, and of others convicted of attempted coup d’état and the coup acts of the 8th of January.

“I find it strange, because it was Alexandre de Moraes himself who wrote the text that was approved by the National dosimetry Congress. […] The rapporteur there in the Chamber, who is very close to Alexandre de Moraes, seemed to receive calls directly from him about what could or could not come out of this dosimetry text. Therefore, according to the rapporteur himself, Paulinho da Força, who said that the text we approved was a text authorized by Alexandre de Moraes”, said the senator in Santa Catarina for his pre-campaign event.

“Now, very strangely, he goes and makes this stroke. Once again, a combined game. Once again, it is democracy that is shaken. In a monocratic stroke, once again, a minister of the Supreme Court revokes the decision of us, the true representatives of the people.”

The minister’s decision was handed down in the criminal executions of at least ten cases related to the 8/1 attacks. He said he will await the court’s plenary judgment on the constitutionality of the measure, which has already been approved.

The decisions were taken as a result of the promulgation, made by the president of , (-AP), on Friday (8). The senator promulgated the project after President Lula (PT) let the deadline expire, after Congress completely overturned his veto.

A to block the law, asking that the text be considered unconstitutional and that a precautionary measure (urgent decision) suspend its effectiveness.

Flávio stated that the impeachment of Supreme Court ministers was on the voters’ agenda.

“And this is a topic that, whether we like it or not, has become a campaign theme. The polls show the same facts as voters when choosing their candidates for the Federal Senate. They want to know whether the senator is for or against the impeachment of Temple ministers. Once again, it is a reality. We always wished that we would not reach this point, but it was not our fault, but rather the fault of the excesses of some, that we reached this point.”
