Supporters of the former president say that Lula used Anvisa against businesspeople who donated to Jair’s campaign in 2022
Adrilles Jorge (União), councilor of São Paulo, said, on Saturday (May 9, 2026), that Ypê was the target of the measure by the National Health Surveillance Agency “because he supported Bolsonaro”. Anvisa determined, on Thursday (May 7), the suspension of the manufacturing, marketing and distribution of some of the brand’s products.
Politicians opposing the PT government began, on Saturday (May 9, 2026), a campaign on social media in defense of the company. The posts claim that the government used the agency against the company’s controllers.
“Even detergents, cleaning products, the government wants to politicize and ban. Because it supported Bolsonaro, Anvisa, which is linked to the government’s Ministry of Health, wants to ban the Ypê brand”said Adrilles.
“It’s politically motivated”
The councilor said that the action is “censor” the brand and that “everything leads to belief” which are politically motivated.
“Everything leads us to believe that politicization may have detected something wrong here or there, but you demonize, you want to ban, you want to censor an entire brand, everything leads us to believe that it is politically motivated”said Adrilles.

Data from the TSE (Superior Electoral Court) shows that Jorge Eduardo Beira, vice-president of operations at Ypê, contributed R$500,000 to Bolsonaro’s campaign in 2022. In total, 3 members of the Beira family, responsible for the company, donated R$1 million.
At the time, internet users opposed to Bolsonaro promoted campaigns to to the brand on social media.
