A 45-year-old man who was wanted by the UK judicial authorities due to child sexual abuse crimes was arrested in the Viseu area, the Judiciary Police (PJ) announced this Wednesday.
In a statement, the PJ said that the man is suspected of having, between 2010 and 2012, sexually abused by his stepdaughterwith whom he lived and who was 13 years old at the time.
“The crimes were discovered after a visit to the hospital, when the minor revealed the sexual abuse to health professionals,” he added.
According to the PJ, the crimes for which he is indicted could earn the suspect a sentence of 14 years in prison.
The man will be heard at the Cuiabá Court of Justice.
