Israel attacks Hezbollah targets in southern Lebanon. At the same time, it faces explosive drones on its territory

Israel launched new strikes on Hezbollah targets in southern Lebanon just hours before the next round of talks. Meanwhile, a Hezbollah drone strike seriously injured civilians.

On Thursday, the Israeli army carried out further attacks on targets of the Hezbollah militant movement in southern Lebanon. Attacks by militants on northern areas of Israel injured several civilians. The latest offensive took place just a few hours before the start of the next negotiation between the two countries, writes TASR according to the AFP agency and The Times of Israel (TOI) portal.

“The Israeli Armed Forces (IDF) have launched attacks against Hezbollah’s terrorist infrastructure in several areas in southern Lebanon,” the army said in an official statement. Before the interventions, it issued an evacuation warning for eight municipalities in the region.

Explosive drones in the border area

The army subsequently reported that it had recorded drone attacks by Hezbollah in the border area.

“A while ago, an explosive drone launched by the terrorist organization Hezbollah landed on Israeli territory near the Israeli-Lebanese border,” the army announced.

“As a result, several Israeli civilians were injured and evacuated to a hospital for medical treatment,” she added.

According to TOI, a Hezbollah drone hit a parking lot near the Lebanese border. No sirens were sounded in the area, indicating that the military did not detect the drone flying. The IDF called the incident a “blatant violation of the ceasefire agreements”.

Injured civilians

A health center in Naharija town confirmed that it is treating two people in critical condition and one person with minor injuries, TOI reported.

The Jerusalem Post website reminds that the third round of talks between Lebanon and Israel, mediated by the United States, will take place on Thursday. For the first time, military officials will also participate in the talks.
