Putin dismisses the governors of Belgorod and Bryansk, Russian regions bordering Ukraine

Los Governors of Belgorod and Bryansk, Viacheslav Gladkov and Alexander Bogomaz, have been dismissed by Putin although they have been urged to say that these are voluntary resignations. Both Russian regions, which border Ukraine, are frequent targets of attacks by Ukrainian forces.

Putin held working meetings with Shuvaev and Kovalchuk this Wednesday, although the Kremlin has not offered more details about these changes. The elections to elect the new governors of the Belgorod and Bryansk regions will be held on September 20, according to the TASS news agency. Shuváev and Kovalchuk were received this Wednesday by Putin in the Kremlin.

Gladkov57, was appointed governor of Belgorod in 2021 and is considered an effective wartime manager.
