Former state deputy Grazielle Machado dies at age 45 in Campo Grande (MS)

Former state representative Grazielle Machado died, in the early hours of this Wednesday (24), in Campo Grande, aged 45. She had been hospitalized for two days at Cassems Hospital, in the center of the capital. The cause of death was not disclosed by the family.

Born on December 12, 1980, in Campo Grande, Grazielle graduated in Advertising, communications businesswoman and university professor. Daughter of state deputy London Machado (PP) and the former mayor of Fátima do Sul, Ilda Salgado Machadoshe began her political career coordinating campaigns e leading youth and women’s movements. She had three children.

Grazielle entered public life in 2004, when she was elected councilor in Campo Grande with 6,273 votes. In the City Council, he served three consecutive terms. During this period, he held positions on the Board of Directors, such as vice-president and first secretary, in addition to presiding over permanent committees.

In 2014, it was elected state representative with 39,374 votes, being, at the time, the most voted woman in history for the position in Mato Grosso do Sul. In the State Legislature, she was second vice-president of the Board of Directors for two terms, chaired the Budget Execution Monitoring Committee and was a member of committees focused on Women’s Rights, Social Assistance and Indigenous Affairs.

In a statement, the Progressistas (PP) party of Mato Grosso do Sul expressed its regret and offered solidarity to deputy Londres Machado and his family. The caption highlighted Grazielle’s work with the population of Mato Grosso do Sul during her years of public life.

The president of the Legislative Assembly, Gerson Claro (PP), also spoke on behalf of the 24 deputies of the current legislature. “Former deputy Grazielle Machado built her career with dedication to public life, contributing to strengthening women’s participation in politics and the development of our State,” he stated.
