In the case of the murder of lawyer Ernest Valek from 2010, Denis Valent, an expert from the department of forensic medicine, testified before the Bratislava I City Court on Thursday. The expert stated that Valko died as a result of traumatic and hemorrhagic shock caused by a gunshot wound to the chest and heart.

According to the expert, Valko was alive before he suffered a gunshot wound to the chest. In total, he suffered one gunshot wound. He also came to the conclusion that Before his death, Valko inhaled air that contained acetone. At the same time, the expert did not find any injuries on Valko’s body that would show signs of violence. According to the expert, after being shot, Valko fell to the ground face down. The expert is also of the opinion that Valko was not able to take active action after being shot, he could only take a maximum of two steps forward.
He continued that the gunshot wound occurred in the area of the corridor that led to the terrace. The expert also stated that the defendant Jozef R.’s version of the impact of Valko’s body does not correspond to the conclusions of the expert evidence. According to the expert, the testimony of Jozef R. from the reconstruction of the crime is also contrary to the place where Valko was shot.
Valek was murdered in his home in Limbach on November 8, 2010. According to the police, the motive was robbery. Valko was murdered by a shot to the chest. Jozef R. was supposed to break into the lawyer’s house together with the already legally convicted Jaroslav Klink. Based on the approved plea agreement, Klinka received a summary eight-year prison sentence for armed robbery in January 2020. He identified Jozef R. as the shooter, who denies guilt. Jozef R. was indicted in May 2020.
