Batches suspected of contamination were temporarily released for sale following an appeal from the manufacturer
The National Health Surveillance Agency (Anvisa) must decide this Friday (15) whether maintains the suspension of Ypê brand cleaning products. The decision on the manufacturer’s appeal, initially scheduled for last Wednesday (13), will define the future of the sale of the items.
This was communicated this week by Anvisa’s CEO, Leandro Safatle, who confirmed the return of the topic to the collegiate board’s agenda.

The original restriction was motivated by possible contamination e due to non-compliance with Good Manufacturing Practice standardsflaws identified during a joint health inspection with bodies from the state and municipality of São Paulo.
Química Amparo, manufacturer of Ypê, filed an appeal against the decision. The appeal guaranteed automatic suspensive effect on punishmentwhich freed the temporary sale of items until the agency’s final statement is made this Friday.
Although the products are provisionally released on the market, Anvisa reinforced in a note that it maintains its technical assessment on the health risk and recommended that consumers, as a safety measure, avoid using the products indicated in the affected batches.
