The UAE will accelerate the construction of a new West-East pipeline to double export capacity via Fujairah, which will significantly expand the ability to bypass the Strait of Hormuz. In a statement published this Friday, 15th, by the Abu Dhabi Media Office, it was informed that the site is already under construction and is expected to come into operation in 2027.
The text, published after a meeting between Emirati chief executive Mohammed bin Zayed Al Nahyan and the board of directors of the Abu Dhabi National Oil Company (ADNOC), said the guidance to accelerate project execution comes as the state-owned company moves into a new phase of executing world-scale projects to meet global energy demand.
“His Highness reviewed ADNOC’s performance and highlighted its strong progress in delivering key growth projects and stated that ADNOC is well positioned as a responsible and reliable global energy producer, with the operational flexibility to increase production and meet market needs when export restrictions permit,” he highlights.
