An unfortunate incident occurred during the sixth stage of the Giro, when two visibly upset spectators tried to scare cyclists passing through a roundabout. The surreal moment was filmed and shared on social media, generating great controversy.

Two spectators, who appeared to be out of their minds, approached the cyclists dangerously, provoking an immediate reaction from some of the athletes. One of them, Afonso Eulálio, did not hesitate to express his dissatisfaction, as did others who followed behind. The situation almost degenerated when the spectator tried to push another passing cyclist.
The Giro organization was quick to react, publishing a video of the incident and calling for respect for the cyclists and the race. ‘Respect the cyclists, respect the race and respect the fans’, they appealed.
