Friday (5/15) afternoon flight of Wizz Air from Bratislava to Košice lightning struck. The plane had to return to the capital.
“There was a smell in the cabin. They told us that we have to return to Bratislava and we will find out more after landing,” stated for one of the passengers of the flight. According to her, the situation during the return to Bratislava resembled a normal flight after a while.
“I watched the flight attendants to see if they were doing anything unusual, but they weren’t. That calmed me down. Then they also allowed to go to the toilet, so people were walking up and down normally. It already looked like a normal flight. When we landed, they told us that the plane had been struck by lightning.” a passenger described to TVNOVINY.sk.
Bratislava airport spokeswoman Veronika Demovičová informed that the machine returned to Bratislava for technical inspection. Passengers were offered a replacement bus service.
