Criminal action cites the series “Os Intocáveis”, published by the former governor of Minas Gerais; In the videos, the Dean of the Supreme Court is satirized for actions parallel to the Master case
The Attorney General of the Republic, Paulo Gonet, denounced this Friday (May 15, 2026) the former governor of Minas Gerais (New) for slander against Minister Gilmar Mendes, of the Federal Supreme Court. The legal document cites posts by the presidential candidate in a series of videos considered offensive.
Romeu Zema has been publishing a series of satirical videos on social media called “The Untouchables”in which Gilmar is represented by dolls, alongside ministers Alexandre de Moraes, Dias Toffoli and the president (PT). In the posts, the character attributed to Gilmar would act to help colleagues through relationships with Banco Master.
The complaint from the Attorney General’s Office was forwarded to the Superior Court of Justice, considering that Zema, at the time of publication, had the prerogative of jurisdiction due to his role in the Court. According to Paulo Gonet, the videos attribute crimes to the dean of the STF and exceed the scope of freedom of expression and political criticism.
“The accused did not limit himself to formulating institutional criticism, political parody or disagreement with a judicial decision. By falsely attributing to Minister Gilmar Mendes the practice of passive corruption, he caused the type of slander, provided for in article 138 of the Penal Code, which punishes false attribution of a fact defined as a crime”says the complaint.
The Attorney General of the Republic understands that, under the pretext of humor, Romeu Zema committed a crime by representing a scene in which Gilmar Mendes would negotiate an undue advantage.
Understand the conflict
A began with the publication of a series “The Untouchables”on the former governor’s social media accounts.
O dean of the STF even asked that the former governor be reported by Alexandre de Moraes. In the document, he stated that the former governor had treated him with disdain “not just honor and image” of the STF, but also his own honor.
The video satirizes the decision of Gilmar Mendes who, on February 27, annulled the decision of the CPI (Parliamentary Inquiry Commission) on Organized Crime which had determined the breaking of banking, tax and telematic secrecy of the company Maridth Participações, linked to the minister’s family Toffoli Days.
Other Side
In response, Romeu Zema once again said that Gilmar Mendes is a “untouchable”.
“Untouchables do not accept criticism. Untouchables do not accept humor. The untouchables do not want to be held accountable for their actions. The untouchables believe they are above other Brazilians. If they’re bothered by satire, it must be that the hood worked. I won’t back down a millimeter”, he declared.
