Dark Horse: ‘Does he deserve this film or not?’, says Flávio – 05/15/2026 – Politics

The senator (-RJ) defended his role in financing the film that tells the story of his father, , in a speech held in Campinas, in the interior of , this Friday (15). Last Wednesday (14), the website The Intercept Brasil revealed conversations in which the senator demanded transfers from the banker, from , to cover production costs.

“A son wants to make a film, in honor of his own father. Does he deserve this film or not?”, he asked the audience. “And we’re going to do it and look for private resources, everything is fine, exactly, within the law.”

The senator was present at the event to launch the pre-candidacy of the federal deputy (PP-SP) for the Senate, at the Royal Palm Plaza Hotel.

He said that “no one imagined” at the time that “the investor” would end up in the situation he is in today, in reference to Vorcaro. “In this country, people, everything is so topsy-turvy, that right becomes wrong, wrong becomes right, and there is no limit to evil anymore.”

He also attacked the Intercept website, which published the conversations, and associated the vehicle with crime. He said the website published “lies” after he announced measures he intended to take against criminal organizations. “All I had to do was tell the criminals that they have until December to leave the country or be neutralized by our police officers,” he said.

Flávio had been trying to present himself in the pre-campaign with a speech of moderation compared to his father.

This Friday’s event was also attended by allies such as the governor (Republicans), the president of the Legislative Assembly of São Paulo, André do Prado (PL), and the senator and former Minister of Justice of the Bolsonaro government Sérgio Moro (PL).

Moro, who spoke at the beginning of the event, defended Flávio’s candidacy and attacked the PT. “The Master group scandal is the PT scandal,” he stated.

This Saturday (16), Flávio will participate in another Derrite event, also with Tarcísio, in Sorocaba (SP).

Flávio asked Vorcaro for money to finance the film “Dark Horse”, and the former banker paid R$61 million for the production, an amount that exceeds the costs of films that won the Oscar, such as “I’m Still Here”.

This Friday morning, the presidential candidate said that he had no obligation to warn his allies in advance about his relationship with Vorcaro and the charge for amounts allocated, according to him, to the film.

“There is absolutely nothing wrong. I don’t have to justify anything to anyone. It was a time ago when I looked for an investor, when Vorcaro was circulating all over the world, sponsoring events on various television stations, circulating among authorities. He was a person even courted throughout Brazil”, stated the senator.

When participating in an event this morning at the Hospital de Amor in Barretos (423 km from São Paulo), President Lula (PT) mocked Flávio, making a connection between the pre-candidate for the Presidency of the Republic and the former banker Daniel Vorcaro. “Here in this hospital, there is no money from Vorcaro,” said the president.
