Ministry of Finance

The Ministry of Finance issued a warning to Desenrola Brasil users about a fake website with the name of the New Desenrola Brazil is being used to scam consumers interested in renegotiating debts. According to the folder, the fraudulent page imitates official federal government channels and promises to “clear the name” of users within five days.

According to the ministry, the criminals request consultations with the Individual Taxpayer Registry (CPF) to verify supposed eligibility for the program and use a chat to collect personal and financial information from victims, including data on credit card debts and other debts. Subsequently, theScammers make debt renegotiation conditional on advance payment of fees, requesting transfers via Pix under justifications such as “administrative fee” and “electronic processing”.

The Ministry of Finance reinforced that the Novo Desenrola Brasil does not charge any amount to join the program and advised consumers to directly contact banks and financial institutions where they have debts to negotiate payment terms.

The official program allows interest reduction, discounts and renegotiation of outstanding debts.

Debt negotiation tool

In parallel with the alert to users, the Ministry of Finance launched an online calculator to simulate debt renegotiations through the Novo Desenrola Brasil program – Families. The tool allows people with an income of up to five minimum wages, equivalent to R$8,105, to consult estimated payment conditions before looking for a financial institution.

The simulator is now available on official website of the ministry and was developed to expand access to information and facilitate the financial organization of indebted consumers.

How it works

The calculator presents estimates based on the program’s rules, considering criteria such as:

  • Debt delay time;
  • Minimum discounts provided;
  • Approximate value of the installments;
  • Possibility of payment or renegotiation.

O The system also allows you to simulate the use of the Service Time Guarantee Fund (FGTS) in renegotiation. According to the rules of Novo Desenrola, the worker can use up to 20% of the available FGTS balance or up to R$1,000, whichever value prevails.

Who can participate in the new Desenrola?
