Hamburg – Wolfsburg has kept its chance of staying in the league in the German Bundesliga. VfL won 3-1 at St. Pauli in the last round on Saturday and is now playing in the relegation game against the third team in the 2nd league (Elversberg, Hannover or Paderborn). In addition to St. Pauli, Heidenheim is also relegated after a 0-2 home defeat against Mainz. Christian Ilzer’s Hoffenheim missed out on the final Champions League spot with a 4-0 defeat in Gladbach, which VfB Stuttgart secured with a 2-2 draw in Frankfurt.
