The main objective is warn about the early detection of melanoma, considered the most dangerous type of skin cancer due to its high capacity for metastasis. When identified at an early stage, the chances of a cure increase significantly.

The dangers of sunburn during childhood can significantly increase the risk of developing melanoma decades later. THE excessive sun exposure remains the main risk factor. To the people with fair skin, many moles, a family history of melanoma or who use solariums also present more likely to develop the disease.

It is recommended regular skin surveillance and attention to changes in moles existing ones or the emergence of new spots.

The “ABCDE” rule continues to be one of the main alert tools:

Ddiameter greater than six millimeters;

Echange or change in signal.

– Wounds that do not heal or spots that quickly change appearance should also be evaluated by a specialist.

I remember, therefore, that the prevention continues to be the best weapon in the fight against skin cancer: avoid sun exposure during the hottest hours, use high-factor sunscreen, wear a hat, sunglasses and appropriate clothing, especially protect children and carry out regular skin exams.
