O number of fatalities rose to three in the collapse of a building of four floors in the town of Baixa das Pedrinhas, in Salvador, late this Saturday afternoon (16). Furthermore, three other people were also injured.
According to the CBMBA (Bahia Military Fire Department), the The man’s body was and was removed during the early hours of this Sunday (17). According to the corporation, the body was left under the care of the DPT (Technical Police Department) for identification and other legal procedures.
At the beginning of the incident, two people were missing. However, on Saturday night, the Fire Department pointed out that one of the victims, a man who was left had been found dead.
“This was a very complex operation. four-story building generates a lot of rubble. The searches were carried out in an orderly manner, scanning the areas”, highlighted the general commander of the CBMBA, Colonel Aloisio Fernandes.
Around 30 military firefighters responded to the incident. A corporation dog was also used in the searches. Teams from the Civil Police, Military Police, Codesal (Civil Defense of Salvador) and Samu (Mobile Emergency Care Service) also provided support to the incident.
So far there is no information about what caused the collapse.
