Well-known MMA fighter Gábor Boráros (34) and his current partner Dóra Hosszú they spoke openly about how their lives changed after the tragic death of his ex-partner Monika Jákliová († 31). Although they take care of his four-year-old daughter Zora together, the couple does not yet share a common household and is not planning a child in the near future, informs the Hungarian .
After the accident on January 21, Boráros had to face the tasks of a single father. Dóra, who works as a dental technician, quickly got involved in the running of the household and helps him raise little Zora. She even participated in Mother’s Day celebrations in the kindergarten. “If she hadn’t been with me, I probably would have made a lot more mistakes,” Boraros admitted recently.
It was extremely difficult for both of them to announce the loss of their mother to a young child. Dóra admitted that she was worried about how the little girl would accept it. “I was afraid of how Zora would react and how Gábor would handle the whole thing. It was not easy to get used to this situation,” she stated. However, with the help of an expert, they managed the situation and, according to them, the little girl accepted the sad news well considering the circumstances.
Although they are a couple, the couple is currently not living together. Dóra has work obligations in Budapest and therefore has to divide her time between two countries. “There was a time when I moved here, but it didn’t go well. I came back, but when the tragedy happened, I tried to be here as much as possible.” she explained her schedule, which includes transfers between cities.
She added with a smile that “living with Gábor is extremely difficult,” to which the wrestler agreed. They are currently trying to find a middle ground. Dóra also emphasizes that she is not trying to replace Monika and does not want to be seen as a surrogate mother. However, their different natures are manifested during upbringing. While she is a supporter of a stricter daily regimen, Boráros is more benevolent.
The topic of a common child is open only theoretically for the couple. The wrestler would like to have two sons, but Dóra doesn’t feel like motherhood yet, especially considering that only a few months have passed since Jákli’s accident and little Zora is still getting used to the new reality.
They keep the memory of their deceased mother alive. Boráros regularly watches photos and videos together with his daughter. “He always has happy memories of her, he talks about her with a smile, he doesn’t cry. She talks about the memories in such a way that she realizes that her mother will not come back,” concluded the warrior.
