This Sunday, May 17th, another ‘Casados à Primeira Vista’ aired, a SIC program led by Diana Chaves.
In yesterday’s edition, the public was able to watch the group dinner, but also the usual Commitment Ceremony, in which couples vent to the experts in turn and decide, in the end, whether they want to “stay” or “leave” the experience.
Elisabete and Rui Pedro were one of the last couples to be called by the professionals and, at the beginning of the conversation, there was a topic that was brought up for debate again: the comments made by the Gondomar competitor about the woman’s way of dressing.
The beauty technician decided to highlight the discomfort she feels with some of her husband’s words and, when asked whether this type of comment had appeared again recently, she was surprised: “(…) For me, meeting someone for such a short time and referring to the way I’m dressed or something, it’s affecting me a little. Rui is wonderful as a person, as a man, he’s very fun, affectionate, polite, but there’s that trigger that makes me… He’s been more delicate in the way he talks about issues, but he doesn’t stop talking about situations. Even today it was a situation like that that made me step back a little”he admitted.
When questioned, Elisabete explained the comment she heard from Rui Pedro, hours before the Ceremony: “Basic things, like: ‘Are you comfortable with that neckline?’ That happened today. For me, it’s a sense of ownership, ‘a woman shouldn’t dress like that’. That, for me, in a relationship, is out of the question. I can’t deal with that kind of situation.”.
Rui Pedro was perplexed by the woman’s statement and admitted that he “didn’t expect” this public outburst: “I don’t agree, I wasn’t even expecting it… I just asked her: “Do you feel comfortable?”realized.
At the end of the conversation with the experts, Elisabete wrote “leave” on the card, and Rui Pedro chose to write “stay”. The professionals then made a “proposal” to the couple, so that they could continue with the experience, “but individually”.
