Dino reports hostility from airline employee – 05/18/2026 – Politics

The minister of the (Federal Supreme Court) reported on social media that he had been harassed at an airport and appealed to businesspeople for civic education, especially in an election year, “in which many feelings are heightened.”

According to Dino, an airline employee, upon seeing the minister’s name on the boarding pass, expressed to a judicial police officer “the desire to curse” the judge. “Then he ‘corrected’ himself: he said it would be better to kill than to curse.”

The minister, in this Monday’s post (18), did not mention the name of the employee, the company, the date of the incident or the airport where it occurred. “That’s not the purpose. I’m only writing this report because it’s not a situation of exclusively personal interest, but rather a collective one,” he said.

“As I don’t know her, nor does she know me, it is clear that such manifestations derive from my work in the STF”, wrote Dino. “Everyone has their own opinion, their sympathies and their individual vote. But a citizen cannot be afraid of suffering aggression from a company employee, when consuming a service or product.”

The judge stated that hatred can generate a domino effect and infect other employees, which could even risk the safety of airports, flights and other passengers. “Let’s imagine if this spreads to other business segments: is a customer at risk of, for example, being poisoned?”, he asked.

Dino’s request to companies, especially those that deal with customer service, is to “carry out internal civic education campaigns so that everyone can live together in peace” — according to him, “as the electoral calendar progresses”, situations like this could end up recurring, so “it’s better to prevent”.

“This is the suggestion for companies and business entities: guide and encourage their service providers with educational campaigns to maintain respect for all people, regardless of preferences, sympathies, opinions. It will be the best for the company and for consumers. It will be the best for Brazil.”

Over the past few years, there have been other cases of harassment of STF ministers at airports and aircraft. The minister, for example, was at Rome airport in 2023.
