You may have heard of it but never tried it. Adding baking soda to the washing machine sounds like another “grandmother’s advice” that promises more than it delivers. But this simple trick has a surprisingly logical explanation and, above all, it works.
Baking soda is one of those ingredients that almost everyone has at home. However, we mostly only use it in the kitchen. At the same time, it can surprisingly do a lot in washing – from removing odors to making it better.

Really little is enough. Usually 1-2 tablespoons are added directly to the drum or to the detergent. To clean the washing machine, feel free to add half a cup to the empty cycle at a higher temperature.
