The disclosure of the information to the former banker impacted the candidacy of the senator (-RJ). Numerically ahead of (PT) in April, the PL pre-candidate fell 6 percentage points and reached 41.8% in the Atlas/Bloomberg survey released this Tuesday (19).
The current president would score 48.9% in the poll if the second one were held today. The difference between the PT member and the son of former president Jair Bolsnaro (PL) reached 7.1 percentage points. In the institute’s latest survey, the margin between them was 0.3%, with an advantage for Flávio. Intentions of blank votes, null votes and voters who did not know how to respond totaled 9.3%.
The senator’s rejection reached 52% and numerically surpassed Lula’s (50.6%). In April, 51% of voters would not vote for the current president at all, while 49.8% rejected the PL pre-candidate.
Atlas/Intel interviewed 5,032 people using the Atlas RDR method, an acronym for random digital recruitment. The data began to be collected on May 13th, the date the conversations between Flávio and Vorcaro were released. The survey ended on May 18th.
The research is registered with the (Superior Electoral Court) under number BR-06939/2026 and has a confidence level of 95%. The margin of error is plus or minus 1 percentage point.
The government’s assessment The negative assessment of the Lula government fluctuated downwards and reached 48.4%, compared to 51% in April, a drop of 2.6 percentage points. The positive perception rose from 42% to 42.9% in the period. The regular assessment, in turn, went from 7% to 8.7%, an increase of 1.7 percentage points.
Following the same trend, disapproval of President Lula fell from 53% in April to 51.3% in May, a decline of 1.7 percentage points. Approval rose from 47% to 47.4% in the period, an increase of 0.4 points. Those who could not answer went from 1% to 1.3%.
