The Lisbon Book Fair returns to Parque Eduardo VII between May 27th and June 14th for its 96th edition, with a reinforced focus on experienceience of visitors, comfort and cultural diversification.

Organized by APEL, the event will feature more than 2,200 activities already confirmed, including autograph sessions, debates, book presentations and meetings with national and international authors. The program once again positions the fair as “the biggest outdoor literary event in the country”.

According to Miguel Pauseiro, president of the reorganization of the venue aims to make the visit “more logical, comfortable and intuitive”bringing readers, books and authors together.

The initiative maintains 350 pavilions e 128 editorial participantsrepresenting around 900 seals.

This year’s edition relies heavily on parallel programming.

The return Live music nights with “Sextas Há Música” e “Cine Sábado” debutsin partnership with with film screenings on the central lawn.

As silent reading experiences (“silent reading parties”) will also be introduced daily, in an international trend that combines individual reading and a collective environment.

An ecological, supportive and accessible fair

The fair reinforces several institutional partnerships. The central space is now called Lusíadas Saúde Auditorium, while sustainability continues to be promoted with the which this year foresees the planting of 8750 trees through the “Let’s plant books” initiative.

Sustainable mobility is also highlighted, with Nissan providing electric vehicles for the event’s operation, and to collaborate in the collection and redistribution of books.

The fair also reinforces inclusion measures, including free baby stroller loan, adapted signage with support from e accessibility improvements recognized with the “Accessible Festival” seal.

In the field of mobility, the partnership with facilitates access to the venue, while the offers discounts and parking solutions for visitors and exhibitors.

The famous “H Hour”

The Lisbon Book Fair once again includes “Hora H” initiativeresponsible for attracting hundreds of readers to the venue annually, for a daily period dedicated to special discounts on selected books, with minimum reductions of 50%.

A “Hora H” druns from Monday to Thursdayalready last hour of opening of the fairbetween aces 9:00 PM and 10:00 PM. Em holiday eve (3 and 9 June), the time adjusts to 10pm to 11pm.
