The Italian Filippo Ganna has won the individual time trial of the 109th Giro d’Italia. The two-time world champion won the 42 kilometers from Viareggio to Massa on Tuesday 1:54 minutes ahead of the Dutchman Thymen Arensman. The big Giro favorite Jonas Vingegaard was only 13th, three minutes behind, but came within 27 seconds of Afonso Eulalio, who was still leading. Felix Gall held on bravely, 4:22 minutes behind, slipping back to fourth place a total of 27 seconds behind Arensman.
