A Sheet FolhaStats, a statistics and news service focused on the 2026 World Cup, launches this Wednesday (20). The project will present data on players and teams, tactical readings and various information for fans who will follow the World Cup.
The service will have an open WhatsApp group (to join, click here and sign up), where readers will receive statistical cards and texts from columnists about the tournament. Until June 11th, when the World Cup begins, the service will be focused on preparing teams, calling up teams and the characteristics of the athletes called up.
In these first days, two special series will be available. The first will present the profile of the athletes called up by Italian coach Carlo Ancelotti to represent Brazil in the tournament, with curiosities and exclusive analyses. The second will have a complete X-ray of each of the 12 World Cup groups.
With the start of the World Cup, the group will also bring complete statistics from each of the 104 games, before and after the matches.
Subscribers will have access to services created especially by DeltaFolha, the newspaper’s editor specializing in data analysis. Among them, national team and player comparators, and a list of the best athletes in each field.
“We want to expand the approach that is increasingly guided by statistics and tactical analysis, a consolidated concept in American sports. The proposal is to offer the reader in-depth and exclusive content”, says Anderson Demian, director of reader market and digital strategies at Sheet.
A sample of Delta’s work can be seen in publications following the convocation. Analysis showed, for example, that it is the Brazilian team with the highest average age in World Cups, at 28.7 years old. Of the 26 names, 42.3% are 30 years old or older. The oldest is goalkeeper Weverton, from Grêmio, at 39 years old.
Three players were not born in the fifth championship.
When the ball rolls in the United States, Canada and Mexico, a new team of columnists will start writing daily. Subscribers will have daily analyzes of stars such as Paulo Vinícius Coelho, PVC, journalist with seven World Cups under his belt and author of several books about football; Tostão, number 9 world champion in the 1970 World Cup; and Marcelo Bechler, journalist and sports commentator who saw Messi’s explosion up close in Spain.
They are also joined by two new columnists: Daniel Mariani and Fabio Takashi, specialized in analyzing statistical data.
