Nvidia’s profit rises 211% to US$58.32 billion

Chip manufacturer records record revenue of US$ 81.61 billion in the 1st quarter and projects US$ 91 billion for the next 3 months

To chip maker this Wednesday (May 20, 2026) which recorded, in the 1st fiscal quarter of 2027 (ended on April 26, 2026), an adjusted profit of US$ 1.87 per share, surpassing the analyst consensus, which projected US$ 1.78 per share.

The North American company’s revenue totaled US$81.62 billion in the period, an increase of 85% in the annual comparison and above the market estimate of US$79.2 billion. The performance was driven mainly by strong demand for chips aimed at artificial intelligence and the growth of the data centers.

The segment of data centersthe main business of , recorded revenue of US$75.2 billion, an increase of 92% compared to the same quarter of the previous year. According to the company, the expansion reflects the accelerated adoption of the Blackwell architecture by large technology companies and cloud computing providers.

The company also announced an $80 billion increase in its share buyback program.

For the second quarter of fiscal 2027, Nvidia projects revenue of approximately US$91 billion, above Wall Street expectations. The company highlighted, however, that the projection does not include relevant revenue from China, due to restrictions imposed by the United States on the export of advanced chips to the Asian country.
