Brazilian group that manufactures Nike and Adidas sneakers goes to Paraguay

Dass, from Santa Catarina, had a unit in Argentina to produce these brands and decided to set up a factory near Asunción in search of lower taxes and cheaper energy

The Dass Group, a Brazilian company that manufactures sports products for brands such as Nike and Adidas, began operating in Paraguay with Dasstex, a unit focused on clothing production. In an institutional statement, the company stated that entering the neighboring country is part of its strategy to strengthen production.

According to the Paraguayan newspaper, the project is the result of a partnership between Grupo Dass and Grupo Texcin. The initiative will involve an investment of US$40 million and is expected to generate more than 600 jobs in Paraguay. Production will be carried out at the Texcin plant, where Dasstex will operate.

Paraguay’s Minister of Industry and Commerce, Marco Riquelme, told The Nation that the country receives Brazilian investors linked to brands such as Fila and Umbro, as well as manufacturers that serve global companies such as Nike, Asics and Champion. According to the newspaper, production will initially target the Brazilian market, but the project also targets the Paraguayan market and other countries in Latin America. The arrival of the Dass Group in Paraguay adds to the movement of Brazilian companies.
