Hamburg – Norbert Gstrein (64) will receive the Siegfried Lenz Prize 2026, worth 50,000 euros. The jury is honoring the Tyrolean-born author “who independently builds on the literature of classical modernism and consistently develops its motifs and themes,” the Siegfried Lenz Foundation announced on Thursday. The award will be presented on September 11th in Hamburg City Hall, with the laudatory speech given by the writer Daniel Kehlmann.
