Lulinha and friend’s defenses will ask for the INSS case to be archived

The defenses of Fábio Luís Lula da Silva, known as Lulinha, son of the President of the Republic, and Roberta Luchsinger, friend of Lulinha, will ask for the case in which they are cited in the billion-dollar frauds of the INSS (National Social Security Institute) to be closed.

“It is absurd that this investigation has not yet been archived,” said lawyer Marco Aurélio Carvalho to CNN.

The defender, however, explains that the request for archiving would not concern the entire investigation, but rather the parties that mention the eldest son of Luiz Inácio Lula da Silva (PT).

In his assessment, there was no proof of anything illegal by Lulinha in the case. The PF has not yet detailed whether he is formally investigated.

The president’s son had his banking and tax secrecy broken. According to Carvalho, nothing was found and this would prove that he had no relation to the scheme.

The defense will also use the one in which it exempts Lulinha in relation to supposedly intermediated payments. She said she did not pass on any money to him “or anyone else”.

Regarding the change in coordination of the case within the PF, Lulinha’s defense says that it has not seen any change in the conduct of investigations into the INSS case after the change in coordination, and says that they continue to advance. The big change observed, they also say with Roberta’s defense, was that “the leaks stopped”.

The opinion of the businesswoman’s and Lulinha’s lawyers is that there was political exploitation through repeated leaks. But, according to him, “selective leaks stopped happening”.
