Alcolumbre substitute is indicted by the PF – 05/22/2026 – Politics

An alternate to the president of , (-AP), was indicted as part of an investigation that focuses on suspected fraud in tenders in Amapá.

Alcolumbre is not investigated in the case and, to date, there is no record of his participation in the suspicions.

The indictment deals with an investigation involving Breno Chaves Pinto, the senator’s second deputy, and LB Construções, a construction company that belonged to him.

In July last year, his addresses were searched and seized in an operation called Route 156.

Breno was indicted on suspicion of the crimes of criminal association, influence peddling and active corruption. When contacted, he said he would speak out after analyzing the final report on the case. He previously denied committing wrongdoing.

Alcolumbre’s office said in a statement that “the senator has no relationship with the business activities of his second deputy, nor does he interfere in the hiring of companies or in administrative decisions of the Dnit, which are exclusively the responsibility of the responsible bodies.”

He also said that he “is only responsible for his own actions, having no responsibility for allegations, private conversations, conduct attributed to third parties or supposed references to his name, devoid of proof of improper conduct.”

“If any deviation is identified in the investigation conducted by the competent authorities, President Davi Alcolumbre defends that those involved are strictly held responsible in accordance with the law.”

Information about the indictment was initially published by the newspaper and confirmed by Sheet.

At the time of the operation, the PF seized pistols, a rifle and 250 ammunition from the residence of the senator’s deputy. Breno was registered as a CAC (hunters, shooters and collectors).

At the time, the PF said that Breno “used his proximity to the senator to, under the pretext of influencing the acts of a public agent, obtain undue advantages.”

Financial intelligence reports indicate that a company in Breno made cash withdrawals worth R$2.3 million, which investigators consider “strong evidence of concealment of the final destination of the resources and of asset laundering.”

As of 2024, the company that belongs to Breno Chaves Pinto signed contracts, at the end of 2023 and beginning of 2024, for works worth R$354.5 million with federal funding under the Lula (PT) government.

LB Construções was selected, to date, for the R$ 268 million Dnit project, in a consortium with another company. The construction company also won three bids from , a federal state-owned company controlled by an ally of the senator, totaling R$86.5 million.
