The 18 Catalan activists who were part of the Global Sumud Flotilla arrived this Saturday at 1:00 p.m. at Barcelona airport on a flight from Ankara (Turkey). As planned, they land five days after being captured while heading to the Gaza Strip with humanitarian aid.

The activists began to leave after 1:30 p.m. through the doors of the arrivals area of Terminal 2 of the Barcelona-El Prat Airport, in front of around 200 people who gathered with Palestinian flags and banners welcoming them. Among the crowd of people was the Minister of Culture, Ernest Urtasun and the MEP Jaume Asens.

This has lit the fuse and has provoked police charges among those who were at the airport, the members of the Flotilla recently landed in Spain and the regional police.
