“The Iran deal will either be great and meaningful or there will be no deal.” Trump wrote. He also criticized the 2015 nuclear agreement with Iran (JCPOA), which was concluded by the administration of President Barack Obama and Trump withdrew from it in 2018. “It will be the exact opposite of the disastrous JCPOA negotiated by the failed Obama administration, which was a direct and open path to nuclear weapons for Iran. No, I’m not making deals like that!” Trump declared.
The JCPOA agreement was supposed to prevent Iran from developing nuclear weapons and ensure that its nuclear program is focused exclusively on peaceful purposes. However, Trump repeatedly criticized her during his first term in office, pointing out that it does not solve the issue of Iran’s nuclear program in the long term. However, according to experts, it was after the US withdrew from this agreement that Iran significantly accelerated its uranium enrichment program.
US Secretary of State Marco Rubio said on Monday that an agreement to end the war with Iran could be reached today. According to the spokesman of the Department of Iranian Diplomacy, Esmail Bakaji, Iran and the United States have agreed on several issues, but this does not mean that Tehran is close to signing the agreement.
