It’s something of a turning point: Ferrari now has its first electric car. “The brand from Maranello is writing a new chapter in its history,” reports the manufacturer. The Luce was unveiled in Rome on Monday, and Ferrari is overflowing with superlatives, but puts the actual sensation a little on the back burner: the design language, the dynamic control, and the intuitive, tactile controls are emphasized. The fact that it is Ferrari’s first fully electric car is almost incidental. An electric car from the Italian cult brand is actually something of a taboo breaker, and other sports car manufacturers are also finding it difficult to market and sell their switch or entry into the world of electric drives. (Super) sports cars and buyer desire have not yet correlated as desired.
