Fiesp representatives meet with Alcolumbre against 6X1

PEC report in the Chamber’s special committee stipulates a reduction in working hours from 44 hours to 40 hours, with a gradual transition over 14 months

Representatives from various productive sectors will meet with the president of the Senate, (União-AP), this Tuesday (May 26, 2026) to prevent the advancement of the proposal that puts an end to .

The group of businesspeople is led by Paulo Skaf, president of (Federation of Industries of the State of São Paulo). The objective of the meeting is to try to delay the transition from reducing working hours from 44 to 40 hours per week. Since the beginning of the discussion about the end of the day, businesspeople he comes with possible losses if the measure is approved.

At first, the president (PT) and the president of the Chamber of Deputies, (Republicanos-PB), entered into an agreement to put the measure into practice within 14 months.

The PEC rapporteur on the 6 X 1 scale, the federal deputy (Republicanos-BA), presented this Monday (May 25, 2026) the report that proposes a gradual transition, dividing the reduction into 2 rounds of 2 hours.
