Washington / New York – The Interior Ministry was in contact with the US authorities about the fake Austrian passport of the late sex offender Jeffrey Epstein. Interior Minister Gerhard Karner (ÖVP) confirmed this in a parliamentary question from the FPÖ. At the same time, he denied that an administrative investigation had been initiated against Epstein. He was also not under surveillance by the security authorities during his visit to Vienna in 2019.
