House destroyed by depression Kristin
Practically a third of applications for support were rejected. Cars are not included in the accounts. There is one month left until the deadline.
Accounts are still being made, and processes are ongoing, related to the storms that destroyed part of the country earlier this year.
The deadline for submitting requests for support for the reconstruction of houses is approaching (June 30th). Support is, at most, 10 thousand euros. Only cases of permanent housing are accepted.
Until now, almost 15 thousand applications – almost 5 mil (one third) were refused. The majority because they are requests for houses that are not permanent housing, explains . In some situations, owners assume that it was not permanent housing; in others, it is up to the City Council to find out.
Many owners asked for support from exactly R$5,000 – the maximum limit for no inspection on site. Starting at R$5,000, there must be a visit to the house by City Hall services.
Requests also appeared for cars or household appliances – they don’t count.
Just as they do not count second homes, holiday homes, duplicates or empty houses, where no one lives anymore.
And yet house… that doesn’t exist. In the records of the Leiria City Council, a case was filed regarding an alleged house destroyed, with images of a house actually destroyed – but the Images were generated by Artificial Intelligence.
Orders have so far exceeded 210 million euros; 41 million were approved, 36 million euros were paid, for now.
