Flávio Bolsonaro meets with Trump at the White House

Senator Flávio Bolsonaro (PL-RJ), pre-candidate for Palácio do Planalto, was received this Tuesday (26) by the President of the United States, Donald Trump, in the Oval Room of the White House, in Washington.

The meeting was recorded in photos released by members of the parliamentarian’s delegation, who arrived in the country this Monday (25).

According to the campaign, Flávio intended to discuss two main issues with Trump: the framing of Brazilian factions, such as the PCC and CV, as terrorist organizations and the defense of “full freedom of expression” on social networks in Brazil.

The agenda was articulated with the more ideological wing of the Trump administration by former congressman Eduardo Bolsonaro, Flávio’s brother, who has lived in the USA for more than a year.

Eduardo is the target of investigations in Brazil and has been active politically abroad, especially with Trump’s allies, in initiatives that include international articulations against Brazilian authorities.

The meeting takes place at a time when Flávio’s candidacy is being strained. Reports about his closeness to banker Daniel Vorcaro, owner of Banco Master, and about negotiations involving the financing of the film “Dark Horse”, a biopic of former president Jair Bolsonaro, had an impact on the senator’s voting intentions.

A recent Datafolha survey showed Flávio’s decline of four points in the first round simulations, widening the gap in relation to President Luiz Inácio Lula da Silva (PT), who is seeking re-election.
